Pennant Knit Zip Cardigan - Black

A reinterpretation of the mid-1900s American collegiate cardigan.

The cardigan descended from European knitwear and was adopted by American sport in the early 20th century. That influence is acknowledged through the rear pocketing, taken from the European cycling jersey, itself originally a knit garment from the same period. Two distinct lineages, joined by a common thread of sport.

Cut to a clean silhouette with a mock neck, full-zip front, and ribbed body. Built to hold shape across daily wear and layer cleanly under outerwear or over a shirt.

Knit from 100% cotton yarn at a 5-gauge, a heavier gauge that balances weight with drape.

Two welt pockets sit at the front, drawn from the collegiate cardigan. Three patch pockets at the rear carry over the cycling jersey detail.

Finished with a two-way zip and monogram-debossed cowhide leather pulls, ribbed cuffs and hem, and clean internal construction throughout.
